Rotor/Armature is the rotating component in electric motors and solenoids that converts electrical energy into mechanical motion through electromagnetic induction.
The rotor (in AC motors) or armature (in DC motors) is the central rotating part of an electric motor or solenoid, consisting of a laminated iron core with conductive windings or bars. When energized, it interacts with the stator's magnetic field to produce torque, enabling rotational motion. In solenoids, it functions as the movable plunger that creates linear motion when magnetically actuated.

Rotor refers to the rotating part in AC motors, while armature specifically denotes the rotating winding assembly in DC motors that carries alternating current. Both serve similar functions but differ in construction and current type.
Regular inspection for insulation damage, bearing wear, and balance issues; cleaning to prevent contamination; and testing winding resistance and insulation resistance periodically.
