工作原理
The thermal trip element operates on the differential thermal expansion principle of bimetallic materials. Two metals with different coefficients of thermal expansion are bonded together. When current flows through the element (either directly or through a heater coil), resistive heating occurs. The temperature rise causes the bimetallic strip to bend toward the metal with lower expansion rate. This mechanical deflection actuates a trip mechanism that opens the breaker contacts. The trip time is inversely proportional to the overload magnitude, following an inverse-time characteristic curve.
