The Presentation Context Negotiator is a specialized software/hardware module embedded in industrial Association Controllers that manages how data is displayed across human-machine interfaces (HMIs), dashboards, and reporting systems. It analyzes real-time operational parameters, user authorization levels, equipment states, and production goals to select the most appropriate data visualization formats, detail levels, and alert priorities. This component ensures operators receive contextually relevant information without cognitive overload while maintaining compliance with operational procedures.

The negotiator operates on a rule-based and machine-learning hybrid system. It continuously monitors input streams from sensors, production schedules, user authentication systems, and equipment status. Using a decision matrix, it evaluates the current operational context (e.g., normal production, maintenance mode, emergency shutdown) and user role (e.g., operator, supervisor, maintenance technician). Based on this analysis, it dynamically configures display parameters such as data granularity, visualization type (graphs vs. tables), color coding, and alert thresholds. The system employs adaptive algorithms that learn from user interactions to optimize future presentations.
