Works by providing a sacrificial wear surface that absorbs the abrasive forces from processed materials (e.g., fertilizers, chemicals, minerals) during granulation. The lining distributes impact energy, reduces friction between materials and drum walls, and prevents direct contact that would cause rapid deterioration of the base metal.
