The gas vent line is a critical component of degasser systems, designed to transport and discharge gases (such as air, vapors, or volatile compounds) that are separated from liquids or slurries. It typically connects the degasser's gas outlet to a safe discharge point, vent stack, or recovery system. The line must maintain proper flow characteristics, prevent backflow, and often includes features to handle corrosive, toxic, or flammable gases safely. It plays a key role in maintaining process efficiency, product quality, and operational safety by ensuring complete removal of entrapped gases.

The gas vent line operates on the principle of pressure differential and gravity-assisted flow. As gases are separated from the liquid phase in the degasser (via vacuum, centrifugal force, or other methods), they accumulate in the gas collection chamber. The vent line provides a low-resistance pathway for these gases to exit the system. The line's diameter, slope, and routing are designed to prevent liquid carryover, minimize pressure drop, and ensure continuous gas evacuation. In many systems, check valves or traps are incorporated to prevent backflow of atmospheric air or process liquids into the degasser.
