Friction disc pack is a multi-plate assembly in electromagnetic clutch-brake units that enables torque transmission through controlled friction engagement.
A friction disc pack consists of alternating friction discs and separator plates arranged in a stack within an electromagnetic clutch-brake unit. When the electromagnetic coil is energized, it creates a magnetic field that pulls the armature plate, compressing the disc pack and creating friction between the surfaces. This friction transmits torque from the input to the output shaft (clutch mode) or stops rotation by engaging with a stationary housing (brake mode). The pack is designed for precise engagement, heat dissipation, and wear resistance in industrial applications.
