Abrasive materials typically require polyurethane or rubber media, while high-temperature applications need stainless steel.
Aperture shape (square, round, slot, hexagonal) influences screening efficiency, capacity, and blinding resistance. Square apertures provide accurate sizing, slot apertures excel at separating elongated particles, and round apertures offer good throughput. Slot orientation relative to material flow also affects performance.
Regular inspection for wear patterns, proper tensioning (for tensioned screens), immediate replacement of damaged panels, cleaning to prevent blinding, monitoring of vibration parameters, and using appropriate feed distribution systems significantly extend screen media operational life.
