工作原理
Retaining rings work on the principle of elastic deformation and spring tension. During installation, the ring is compressed (internal) or expanded (external) to fit into its groove. Once seated, it returns toward its original shape, exerting radial force against the groove walls. This creates a positive mechanical stop that resists axial forces from the retained component. The groove depth and ring cross-section are engineered to withstand specified thrust loads while maintaining secure positioning.
